The Arte-Factum Company is a platform for contemporary culture and independent theater, founded in 2008 in Timisoara, Western Romania. The first event produced by Arte-Factum was the José Carreras Concert in Timisoara, on July 20, 2008, attended by 8800 people. Arte-Factum has been developing local, regional and international cultural projects. The Cultural Association Arte-Factum organized

  • architecture, design exhibitions, visual and sound installations, concerts, Japanese film festivals,

  • founded the Museum of Ethnosculpture, unique in Eastern Europe,

  • has launched new theatrical spaces in Timișoara, the most culturally and collectively relevant are the Franciscan Yard and Studio

  • has been running the permanent season of independent theater Nocturnalii, now in its eighth year,

  • founded The Orchard Festival, a program of rural regeneration through culture

The Independent Theater Company Arte-Factum has produced 23 performances, based on masterpieces of world literature, classical or contemporary plays or original texts written for its projects, and launched in the current dramaturgic circuit.

All the performing projects of Arte-Factum Company were created in the Theatrical Research and Introspection Laboratory  led by stage director Levente Kocsárdi. More than 160 actors and performers from 6 countries have so far participated in the research and creative processes, some of them being today the leading exponents of their generation.

Levente Kocsárdi is an well-known  hungarian-romanian director and actor. Since 1997 he is actor of the Hungarian Theater Csiky Gergely, Timișoara. He is a bilingual actor and has developed professional career also on state and independent artistical environment, playing major roles in National Theaters in Timișoara, Arad, but also playing in artistic tours in Hungary, Sweden, Austria, Germany. He has played over 120 roles in performances in Hungarian and Romanian languages, collaborating with important directors. He has directed performances on the stages of state and independent theaters. He is artistic director of the independent company Arte -Factum, where he leads the Laboratory of Theatrical Introspection and the independent season Nocturnalii.
